Krabi is one of the southern provinces of Thailand, located along the Andaman coast and 814km from Bangkok. From Bangkok airport it takes 1 hour 20 minutes to get to Krabi. If you go by car, it’s about 11 to 12 hours. Krabi borders Phuket by sea, from Krabi to Phuket about 2 hours by boat. If you are a sea travel enthusiast, you must definitely go to both Phuket and Krabi. There are 2 ways to get to Krabi from Bangkok fly and go bus.

Although the bus is quite convenient in Thailand, if you can book cheap flight tickets, it will be much less tiring for you.

Airport in Krabi is Krabi International Airport, from the airport you will take a taxi or other means to enter the city center (distance 15km), from the airport to Ao Nang is 40km. The price to go to Song tao from the airport to Ao Nang is about 50bath / person, with a time of about 1.5 hours.

With bus from Bangkok to Krabi

Buses to Krabi depart at the bus station south of Bangkok (Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal – +66.24351199). It takes about 12 hours by car to reach Krabi. Every day, there are many vegetarian buses, with classes such as: VIP bus (19h, 19h30 – 24 seats), and second class (20h – 50 seats). Rent a motorbike in Krabi

To rent a motorbike you need a passport, but the passport is left at the hotel. One way to get a car rental reservation is to bring your CMT, and a scanned copy of your passport. The price for renting a small motorbike is 150Bath, a big car is 200Bath, you add 75Bath for petrol each to go nearly 40km (out of town and Ao Nang area). What to play in Krabi

In Krabi town. You should rent a car for convenience. If you like climbing, you should go to Tiger Cave Temple, very interesting, at the top of the mountain you can see the whole krabi. This is also the most famous temple in southern Thailand, up to the top of the mountain you can also admire a large Buddha statue, and tiger footprints, the origin of the name of the Temple. At Ao Nang

Beach Nopparat Thara : a picturesque beach at the western tip of Ao Nang, planned as a national park. At low tide, you can walk to some of the nearby craggy limestone islands. You can go to Nopparat Thara beach by motorbike, there you can park your car and rest assured not to lose.

Rai Leh Beach is a beautiful beach near Ao Nang, which can only be reached by Longtail boat. It is in fact part of the mainland, but divided by limestone hills. The beach is cleaner than the beach Ao Nang and Nopparat Thara, besides you can also visit some of the caves. There are also hotels and resorts on the beach. Beach Su-san Hoi Also known as fossil oyster beach, about 17km from Krabi town. In the past, this area was a freshwater lagoon, inhabited by many species of snails and shellfish. Over time, the lagoon disappeared, all snails and oysters died, forming a fossil layer up to 40cm thick. With the geographical shift, the fossil layer broke into giant boulders lying on the coast of Laem Pho region to form strange shapes. This is an interesting attraction for archeologists, the entrance fee for foreign tourists is 200bath

At Ao Nang beach, in the morning you will find it deserted, because tourists often follow tours to the islands. Afternoon is the bustling time in Ao Nang.

Hotels in Ao Nang

In Ao Nang area, you should choose Buri Tara resort, 4-star standard. If you go in a group of many people, you can stay here for about 1800B / 3 people (3 people are in the extra bed). Ao Nang Palace Hotel (just a few hundred meters from the beach). Low season room rate is about 940 baht / room, high season will be higher. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The hotel has a swimming pool, no elevator. Rooms are generally ok.

Tour from Krabi

From Krabi you can easily buy tours to visit Phi Phi island. Should go through the tour agency in Ao Nang to explore and get a good price. Buying at hotels and resorts will be higher than outside. Duration: At least 5 days and 5 nights

Schedule: SG-BKK-Krabi-Phi Phi Don-Ao Nang-Krabi Town-Krabi islands-BKK-SG

Day 1: Flight last night BangkokIf you want to sleep at the airport, you can leave your luggage and go to BKK to play. If you take the subway, the last trip back to the airport is 12:00 at night, if you go later, you have to take a taxi. If you buy an Air Asia ticket, you should buy a seat in advance so that you can check in automatically by machine (without luggage) and go to the airport door to find a place to sleep that is not as cold as in the outside area, and very empty. because Air Asia doesn’t have night flights. Prepare a sleeping bag or blanket.

Day 2: Phi Phi Don. Air Asia has a 6:30 am flight, arriving in Krabi is 8:00. Do not send luggage because it will take a lot of time to wait, go straight to the pier in Krabi town. It can be said that a taxi is to go to the pier to take a ferry boat to Phi Phi Don, the only trip of the day is 9:00 am. In Phi Phi Don, there is a tour to Maya bay (Phi Phi Leh) to catch the sunset at 12:30 or you can go to Maya bay night camping starting at 3:30 pm, this tour can both catch the sunset and sunrise. Stay overnight on the island if not going for night camping.

Day 3: Phi Phi – Ao Nang. Rent a bicycle to explore Phi Phi Don island or take a tour to Bamboo island (Phi Phi Leh). I have not checked whether there is this tour or not, but bamboo island should go, or rent a long tail boat. Take a 15:30 ferry boat ride (only 1 trip per day) to Ao Nang area in Krabi. You can stay at the very conveniently located Ao Nang Buri Resort or any of the hotels in Ao Nang Area.

Day 4: Krabi town. Rent a car for convenience. If you like climbing, you should go to Tiger Cave Temple, very interesting, at the top of the mountain you can see the whole krabi. It is also possible to go long tail on the Krabi River, many places you can explore starting from the pier from this river. Morning and night markets in Krabi have nothing to buy. The morning market sells food mainly, but hygiene is not guaranteed. The night market sells goods similar to Ho Ky Hoa night market.

Day 5: Island trip in Krabi: The 4-island tour is also good, or there are so many other places to go that we don’t have time to go.

Day 6: You should fly early to Bangkok to have time to shop at duty free shops and take the latest flight to SG, if you fly to Air Asia, the last flight is 4:00 pm.
