Picturesque fishing village in the coastal town of Quy Nhon

For a long time, Nhon Hai commune has been famous as a peaceful fishing village with charming and picturesque natural scenery in the coastal town of Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh).

About 15 km from the center of Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province to the North, the peaceful fishing village of Nhon Hai is nestled romantically on the Hai Giang peninsula.

This year, the fishing festival in Nhon Hai will be held from March 13 to March 16 (February 11 to February 14 of the lunar calendar). In the photo, fisherman Nguyen Thanh Trung (living in Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon city) sings bazaar to the god of Nam Hai. Ba Trao singing and dancing is a folk performance art with a story, an act, and the soul of Binh Dinh boi singing. Fishermen perform ba Trao both to worship Ong Nam Hai and perform for locals and tourists to see.

The procession with neat costumes, carrying brightly colored banners, gongs and drums, majestically marched to the beach, accompanied by swords and baits to follow the god from the sea to Ong Nam Hai’s mausoleum. Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Tourism, said that the locality set a target this year to welcome nearly 3 million domestic and international tourists, achieving revenue of 4,000 billion dongs.

According to Mr. Thanh, to achieve this, restaurants, hotels and destinations have actively changed their service styles and increased product quality to bring the best experience to visitors. Binh Dinh is trying to become a “3 good” tourist destination including good security, good environment and good community relations.
