Pure Vietnamese ancient village in Bac Giang

Slow, peaceful life on a bamboo-lined country road, mixed with afternoon blue smoke in the fields in Sau village in Tan Yen district.

Afternoon smoke over an ancient village with a rustic name is Sau village in Lien Chung commune (formerly Chung Son), Tan Yen district. Away from the noise and dust in the city, if you have the opportunity to visit Sau village. Legend has it that behind the village, there was a mountain of land in the past in the shape of a crocodile, a mascot often worshiped in temples, so the village was named Sau.

The series of photos were taken by photographer Nguyen Huu Thong (born 1987), from Bac Giang, through many visits to the village. During his photography career, he has won over 40 national and international awards.

Sau village is several hundred years old, with about 200 houses, which there are many ancient houses.

The village road is lined with bamboo, cool in the hot midday summer heat.

“Ugh… nailed bridge oil wallet. The bamboo bridge is bumpy and difficult to walk. It’s hard to go, mom take me. Children go to school, mothers go to the school of life”, author Nguyen Huu Thong remembered the oral lullaby of mothers and fathers when taking pictures of this rural scene.

The countryside wharf is located on the banks of the Thuong River, about a kilometer from the foot of the Dedication mountain, inspiring photographers to compose.

After harvesting, farmers store straw to feed cattle in the cold season.

Sau village is characterized by the countryside in the North, the people from the countryside talk to ask, help each other, and keep their love for the village. The village is currently unaffected by urbanization and tourism and is worth a visit.
