As the largest city in central Vietnam, and boasting fair weather most of the year, it’s no wonder that people flock to one of the many golf courses near Da Nang. The best months for a golf trip in this city are February through May, when there isn’t as much rain and before it gets too hot. During November, tropical storms are possible in this area, making golfing very difficult.

Opened in 2010 and designed by Greg Norman, the BRG Danang Golf Resort is a golf paradise located between Da Nang and Hoi An. This challenging sea-side course’s path was primarily dictated by geography, but the fairways are comprehensive, and there’s an excellent use of water.

An interesting tidbit about the golf resort is that it’s situated on a beach that the Americans used to land during the war in the 1960s. A large clubhouse, a 300 yard/900-foot driving range, and a stunning rooftop lounge are all part of the golf facility.

Situated right by Da Nang’s My Khe beach, the Montgomerie Links Golf Club boasts is a beautiful 18-hole, par-72 course within short proximity to the airport. Established in 2008 but formally opened in 2010, it’s become one of the best link-style courses in the area.

Players of all skill levels can enjoy a day out on these greens, as not only are the holes well thought out, but the natural beauty on the landscape is tough to beat. At “Monty”, some additional facilities include a large modern clubhouse, a driving range with a practice area, and a residential development.

Less than an hour inland from Da Nang, the Bana Hills Golf Club was designed by Luke Donald and established in 2016. With more than 7,800 yards/ 23,400 feet of playable terrain, this course offers an outstanding balance between a challenge and a fun time for golfers of all experience levels.

The first half of the course features forest scenery, while the back half showcases the region’s hills. Some of the services and facilities offered at Bana Hills Golf Club include a clubhouse, practice areas, a grass driving range, and a pro shop.

Situated within driving distance from Da Nang International Airport, Hoiana Shores Golf Club is a links-style course with a few plants and sand dunes to play around. This 18-hole, par-71 course is designed with TifEagle Bermuda greens while fairways showcase Zeon Zoysia grass.

Towards the end of the course, a few of the final holes have outstanding presentations with shore views and dunes. There’s also a clubhouse with a nice changing room in addition to a shopping, residential, and hotel complex on the property.

Vinpearl Golf Nam Hoi An – 42 km/ 26 mi | 1 hour

Opened in 2018, the Vinpear Golf Nam Hoi An course is located just outside Da Nang. The stunning scenery alone is worth hitting the greens for, with many natural trees, ocean views, and rolling dunes throughout the layout. This course is suitable for those who hit both long and short balls, and the pristine bunkers look fantastic next to the Paspalum turf.

A trip to Danang isn’t complete without some time outside, making these options a great place to start for golf lovers. And while visiting, you can make a stop at the ancient town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site just south of Da Nang.
