YEN BAI – 7 people traveled nearly 60 km to explore the two peaks of Ta Lead Nhut and Ta Xua in 4 days.

Le Nguyen Dinh (1987), a tourist from Da Nang, had a trip to “go beyond your limits” with friends in early October. With Dinh, the memory of Yen Bai’s two mountain roads recalls Strong emotions of crossing dinosaurs’ spines, going through muddy sections, going steep in heavy rains, and touching landmarks on the top.

To the top, climb down, then climb up again

Dinh and companions get to know each other through self-sufficient tour groups on social networks. Half of the members have a lot of experience climbing, the other half are first time. The trip was made from the idea of ”climbing 2 peaks to save effort”, at the same time, the members also wanted to challenge themselves. They hire a local to guide the way and pack things, the rest prepare personal belongings, food …

With a rather dense schedule, the group departs from Hanoi at 8:00 p.m., overnight at Tram Tau (Yen Bai). On the first day, Dinh and his friends started climbing Ta Lead Nhut at 9am from Mo Lead (the foot of the mountain). The way to the mountain is mostly steep, having to cross the stream, until noon, they stop to rest and eat beside the small stream.

While eating, the group met the rain, so they had to take an hour off. After that, the group continued trekking up to the resting point over Ba Cay hill and surrounding majestic mountains. 4:00 pm, the group will come to the shack at an altitude of 2,400 m.

The next day, the group got up early to welcome dawn, and began to climb to the top. From this distance, people enjoy watching the purple Chi Pau flower hill stretching along the mountainside, only in full bloom in October – November.

Around 9:00 am, Dinh reaches the top of Ta Nhi Chu with a height of 2,979 m. After taking pictures, the group went back to the shack to pick up things and then down the mountain, back to Tram Tau to rest and bathe.Video Player is loading.ReplayPresent 0:19/Time 0:19Loaded : 0%Progress : 0%UnmuteFull screenFamily walking on the purple flower hill at Ta Chinh Nhu.

On the third day, the group was riding a motorbike taxi to the foot of Ta Xua mountain when it rained heavily, the car broke down and had to wait until 9:00 to start climbing. At 15:00, the group reached the shack at the head of the dinosaur’s spine, at an altitude of about 2,400 m. They enlist the sunset, rest early to climb the next day.

On the morning of the fourth day, the group got up at 4:00 am, hunted for clouds and started to reach the highest peak of Ta Xua mountain. “At the beginning of this road, we had to cross the dinosaur’s spine. The group clung to the cable to move, on both sides there is a dangerous cliff,” Dinh said.

After crossing the dinosaur’s backbone, the group reached a primeval forest stretching from a height of about 2,600 m to the top. The family likened this place as magical and fairy as the scene in the movie “Alice in Wonderland” ( Alice in Wonderland ). He was overwhelmed by the green mossy carpet stretching from the ground to the tall trees.

However, Dinh also thinks that this is the most difficult terrain, and climbers easily lose strength due to slippery and muddy roads. At the same time, the terrain here is many different forests, requiring climbers to go through the forest, up and down continuously instead of climbing straight.

Around 11:00 am, the group arrived at the top of Ta Xua, had lunch and then quickly got down to make it back in time. “When we got off, the group seemed to be energized, moved very fast, around 15am went to the shack, got our things and tried to go quickly down the mountain. The road was muddy, rainy and difficult to go, so it was almost 20 o’clock before we arrived to pick up. Get a motorbike taxi to go back to the motel “, Dinh said.

Go beyond your limits

To make this trip, Dinh and his friends have to try very hard, because usually private climbing tours of Ta Xua mountain will take place in 3 days 2 nights, instead of just going 2 days 1 night as a group.

For Dinh, what determines the success of the trip is the spirit of optimism, joy and cohesion of the whole group. Throughout the journey, everyone always cares and encourages each other.

“On the night of the third day, before I got to the top of Ta Xua, I was hit by the wind, thinking that the next morning I would give up. But everyone in the group beat the wind and warmed me up, so the next morning I am fine”, Dinh told.

Dinh check-in at the top of Ta Xua.

There are times when he gets down, he looks for a place with a beautiful view, admires nature for a while to get energy to go on. With the friends in the delegation, Dinh often encourages to go for another 30 minutes – 1 hour to a beautiful view so that everyone can continue.

“Compared to climbing one peak, climbing two peaks need to prepare a spirit of steel. When you get down to the top for the first time, your body is exhausted and wants to rest, sleep for one night will not recover. If your mentality is not good, you I will not want to continue. My group myself wondered whether I should stay for one night or not, but I still decided to go on 2 peaks, “Dinh shared.

Quynh Trang prefers Ta Xua because of its diverse landscape.

In the group there are 4 female friends, but the climbing power is not inferior. “Actually, I am not a healthy person. In March I used to climb Ta Lead Nhut but gave up because the wind was blowing too loud. This time, no one believed I could climb 2 mountains. in all situations such as rain, sun, fatigue, leg pain … Everyone is climbing and singing and dancing, no one complains of fatigue but still laughter, I suddenly get more energy “, Quynh Trang, a person teammates, said.

“The first steps when climbing the second peak – Ta Xua, I am tired. Legs are still on my knees, my body has not recovered after a night of rest. Suddenly there is a cool, cold rain, I have to hurry quickly. In order not to be soaked in water for a long time, then it will suddenly stop fatigue “, Trang added.
