2 strange restaurants only in Saigon: Where to eat… where food “jumps” from the real-life screen
No need to travel far, Vietnamese diners in Saigon can now also enjoy the unique culinary experience once only available abroad.
1: Square One Restaurant – Park Hyatt Saigon
Address: 2 Lam Son Square, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
Square One restaurant is located in the luxury hotel Park Hyatt Saigon which is famous for its diverse menu, luxurious space and is in the top restaurants with the most beautiful view of Saigon. Not only that, this restaurant is also the only place in Vietnam where diners can enjoy the food “jumping out” from… screen through the 3D culinary performance “Tiny Chef”.
This unique culinary performance takes place from Wednesday to Sunday, each lasting 2 hours. The performance is the perfect combination of 3D movie projection technology, music, installation art, sound effects and decoration.
Thanks to high-tech cinema technology, the dining table will become a 3D cinema, recounting the journey through many landmarks, discovering and “cooking” food right on the plate of the “tiny chef”. Not only young children but adults are also excited by this exciting performance.
After the “tiny chef” finishes cooking, the same real-life dishes as on the film will be taken out and served to diners.
Diners can enjoy the program through 3 packages: Business Package consists of a 5-course menu (according to the taste of 6 different countries that diners can choose) for only VND 2.3 million per guest. If you spend an additional VND 1.15 million, diners will be upgraded to The First Class package with a more luxurious menu. Both Business and First Class packages have their own versions for vegetarians.
In addition, Square One also offers 2 wine packages for diners to choose from: Business package costs 1.5 million VND per guest, First Class package costs 2.5 million VND per guest.
If you want to upgrade the experience further, diners can choose business package with wine for VND 3.8 million per guest, or First Class package with Wine for VND 5.95 million per guest. All of the above packages do not include 5% service charge and 10% VAT.

Interestingly, each show is limited to a maximum of 12 guests, all of which will sit at the same table and enjoy a performance of 1 not 2. Diners can choose le Petit Chef show on Wednesday-Friday, or Marco Polo show on 2 weekends.
2: Noir Restaurant. Dining in the Dark (Dạ Thực)
Address: Alley 178 – 180D Hai Ba Trung, P.Da Kao, Q.1, Ho Chi Minh City. Hcm
Located in an alley in the heart of Saigon, Noir restaurant is the only place in Vietnam that offers a dining experience in… Shadow.
The space inside the restaurant is a cross between Western architecture and Asian decoration.

The device produces light and sound, which includes a mobile phone that will have to be sent outside before diners enter the light-free dining room. The process of serving meals takes place in the dark, the service staff are all visually impaired so diners can be completely assured, do not worry about dropped food plates or broken drinks.
The process of enjoying meals will not be affected by sight or hearing, so the taste experience when eating will become clearer and more special. The menu at Noir is a creative combination of Western cuisine and ingredients and flavors from Asian cuisine. The menu will be changed seasonally to create a new look for diners.
The menu costs VND 590,000 per guest and VND 413,000 per child (5-7 years old). The vegetarian version menu costs VND 520,000 per guest and VND 364,000 per child. These rates do not include 5% service charge and 10% VAT.
If you are allergic or have any diet, diners can inform Noir in advance for a reasonable adjustment, bringing the most suitable menu. Also during the meal, if it is necessary to move a seat or go to the toilet, diners should call the guide for help instead of groping themselves to move.
In general, Square One or Noir has its own unique features, promising to bring unprecedented attractive experiences to diners. What restaurant will you choose next weekend as your first place to experience?
