3 day 2 night schedule to experience Mu Cang Chai

From Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai about 300 km, but the road is more difficult to go than Sa Pa and Moc Chau because the pass passes from one road to another.

The first way: If you move from Hanoi, you can catch the bus at the My Dinh bus station, the bus to Mu Cang Chai mainly passes through Nghia Lo town. A few will run along the Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway to “racket” the provincial guests, but mainly along the 32nd road.

The second way: Move by car of the resort shuttle. But there is only one resort here, the incomplete Mu Cang Chai Resort. So, if you want to stay at the resort, you should choose Le Champ Tu Le, then rent a car to Mu Cang Chai to play.

Private car: visitors can only choose the traditional route to run route 32 according to the route: My Dinh – Nhon – Son Tay – Trung Ha Ba Vi Bridge (or Dong Quang Bridge from Son Tay turn left towards K9) – Thanh Thuy – Thanh Son Phu Tho – Tan Son Thu Cuc – Ba Khe – Van Chan – Nghia Lo town – Tu Le – Khau Pha Pass – Cross Kim Crossing – Mu Cang Chai Town.

Mu Cang Chai mainly has budget hotels, homestay-style rooms, stilt houses and not many high-end options. In particular, people’s houses on stilts and homestays are the most popular type of accommodation in Mu Cang Chai. Stilt houses have dormitory rooms for 10 to 30 people. Visitors can easily find a house on stilts around famous tourist spots such as: Ban Thai, La Pan Tan, Tu Le … There are accommodation services and immediate grocery sales. at the foot of the house.

Hotels are mainly concentrated in the town of Mu Cang Chai. Budget hotels from one star to 3 star, rooms with basic amenities such as bed, bathroom, television, refrigerator … Some new places in “Ecolodge” style (resort Thai) including: Hello MCC, MCC Eco lodge in La Pan Tan. Or tourists can return to Tu Le, Nghia Lo, where there is a slightly more upscale hotel.

Eating

The specialties to try are black chicken, Ban Pig, sticky sticky rice, spring fish, salmon, Khau Pha sturgeon, bamboo shoots, kohlrabi … Snacks to bring back as gifts are Tu Le green cereal. Visitors can see directly the people sifting and pounding rice nuggets, the price of the season is 90,000 VND / kg of fresh rice.

The famous stops of the route to Mu Cang Chai include:

Muong Lo has long been handed down in the praising verse of the four largest rice bowls in the Northwest: “Nhat Thanh, Nhi Lo, Tam Than, Tu Tac”. Of which, Muong Thanh (Dien Bien) is the largest, Muong Lo is the Northwest’s second largest rice field in Nghia Lo town, then Muong Than (Lai Chau) and finally Muong Tac (Son La). ).

The beautiful Tu Le valley is located in Tu Le commune, Van Chan district. This is where the Black Tai live and are predominant.

Terraced fields: Mu Cang Chai is famous for its terraced fields with golden carpet every time the rice season comes. There is only one rice season here, so in September and October every year, many tourists come. The rest of the water season in May and June attracts paparazzi and locals.

If you have time, Thu Trang advises visitors to explore more famous spots including: La Pan Tan terraced fields, Pu Nhu waterfall, Truc forest; large raspberries, small raspberries; Horseshoe Hill.

Day 1:

6am from Hanoi

11h30 to Nghia Lo town to have lunch at Com Muong Lo Hung Van restaurant. This is a big restaurant and makes delicious and fast rice. 8 people in Thu Trang’s family drove comfortably, for only 800,000 VND. There are also many snacks to bring as gifts such as glass jar yogurt, rice cakes … The restaurant is located opposite the Western hotel on Dien Bien Street.

13h to move another 94 km to Tu Le.Stop taking photos on Khau Pha pass.
Go to Ba Nha Bridge to take pictures of large raspberries. Visitors can only walk or ride a motorbike taxi, priced at 60,000 VND / person. Ticket price 20,000 VND / person.

5:00 pm arrive in Mu Cang Chai town, check in at the Sleep House, group 3.
17h30 ride motorbike taxi to Mong Ngua hill to welcome sunset. The road up is only 1.7 km but will be an obsession for many tourists who are not used to adventure travel. To get here, visitors can only choose motorbike taxi for 100,000 VND / person / one way, round trip. The ticket price is 20,000 VND / person.

After that, the whole family of Thu Trang went to the hotel to rest and eat at Quyen Huong restaurant next to the motel. Guests should book a table in advance.
Evening walk in Thai village from Mu market to one kilometer to see dance, stall dance, camp fire.

Day 2:

9 pm check out, have breakfast and then go back from Mu Cang Chai. On the way, stop to take photos of the terraces along the road, watch the parachute fly on Khau Pha pass.

12:00 check-in at Homestay under Cao Pha commune. Lunch at the homestay, the owner cook, rest and in the afternoon go around to visit the village.

16h in the car, move down to Le Champ Tu Le, 7 km away from hot spring bath. Ticket price for retail customers to visit and mineral bath is 300,000 VND / person, including electric car, a hot or cold bath and a drinking water.

18h back to homestay to have dinner and rest.

Day 3:

6 o’clock waking up to visit, take pictures, breathe the air

8 o’clock in the car, leave for Hanoi. On the way to have lunch at Vang Street – Thanh Son, in the afternoon to eat yogurt, buy milk cake in Ba Vi and then go straight to Hanoi.
