Seongsan Ilchulbong is located at the eastern end of Jeju Island and is known as the best place to watch the sunrise on Jeju Island. Because of that, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak opens very early to serve the needs of climbing, watching the sunrise when traveling to this island. From the top of Seongsan, you will see the sea, a large space surrounded, completely relaxing and pleasant.

How to go to Seongsan Ilchulbong mountain by bus

+ If departing at Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal (Dongilju line going to Seongsan), get off at Seongsalliipgu bus stop.

+ If departing at Seogwipo Intercity Bus Terminal (Dongilju line to Seongsan), get off at Seongsalliipgu bus stop.

+ Seongsalliipgu bus stop, you will see the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong mountain. Then continue walking towards the top of the mountain (about 1km).

2. Sanbangsan lava mountain

One of the most beautiful sights in Jeju that is still rarely visited by tourists is Sanbangsan Mountain. This is a giant mountain formed by volcanic lava about 800,000 years ago. The mountain is located close to the Yongmeori coast, there is a 150m high cave surrounded by 200m high cliffs, to get to the cave, visitors have to conquer 470 quite steep stone steps. With its unspoiled and picturesque natural landscape, the nearby mountain and beach have combined into a must-see when traveling to Jeju. Here, you can zoom out to see the whole sea around.

Mount Sanbangsan

Along the way to the mountain are Sanbangsan Temple and Bomunsa Temple, where the relics of the Buddha are kept. While walking along the stone steps between the two temples, you can discover Sanbangsan Cave. Outside the two temples is a huge golden Buddha statue over 2 floors high.

At the top of the mountain is a dense evergreen forest filled with canola flowers, silver magnolias, pale yellow tangerines, and Japanese cinnamon. There are also rare plants such as orchids, Korean boxwoods, which grow on rock faces. Every year, this place takes place many flower festivals attracting hundreds of domestic and foreign tourists.

How to get to Sanbangsan Mountain from Jeju International Airport:

Way 1: Take bus number 37 (Jejudae, Beonde) (37 (제주대,)) and get off after 6 stops at Halla hospital stop (병원)

Way 2: (Bus number 500 (Wolpyeong, Halladae) (500 (제주대, ))) or bus 500 (Yeongjugo, Oedo) (500 (제주대, 외도) also takes you to Halla hospital station (병원)’)

– From here, transfer to bus Pyeonhwaro (Jeju, Hwasun, Daejeong) (로 (제주)) and get off at Mount Sanbangsan ( bến). (Travel time is about 1 hour 30 minutes).

– From Seogwipo Intercity Bus Terminal (Seogwipo Intercity Bus Terminal):

– You take the Seoilju intercity bus (Seogwi, Sagye, Gosan) (일주 (서귀, )) and get off after going through 21 stops. Get off at the stop at Mount Sanbangsan (산방산). (Travel time: 50 minutes).

3. Sangumburi . Crater

Sangumburi is a crater in Southeast Jeju Island, formed and has the most different shape compared to 300 volcanoes around the island with rich and lush flora inside. Therefore, Sangumburi crater is known as the ravishing treasure of Jeju Island.

To the north of Sangumburi is the Nandaeseong vegetation and to the south is the Ondaerim vegetation. With its unique beauty, this place has attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. If you look at the crater from above, it will look like a circular artificial stadium.
