Not as famous as Ha Long Bay, but Lan Ha Bay is gradually becoming a familiar name on the island tourism map of Vietnam. Lan Ha Bay belongs to Hai Phong city, located to the east of Cat Ba Island and south of Ha Long Bay. The bay has an area of about 7,000 hectares, including 400 dense and large islands, with many unspoiled, quiet, unexploited destinations.
Lan Ha Bay possesses its very own beauty, wild and somewhat mysterious, challenging all hearts to explore. Coming here, visitors will be immersed in the blue of the sea, sky and trees.
Most of the islands in Lan Ha Bay are covered with a green color of trees. Each island has a different story and shape. Some islands are shaped like a giant turtle, some are like three fairy peaches, others are embracing the sparkling turquoise lake…
Lan Ha Bay has rich flora and fauna, most of the bay is under the management and protection of Cat Ba National Park. The bay owns pristine beaches, mysterious caves that change depending on the tide level, so it can’t be seen often and not everyone can come.
To get to Lan Ha Bay, visitors have to move to Cat Ba Island, go from the center of the island to Beo Wharf, then buy tickets to visit and rent a boat to the bay.

Ang Tham is about 2km from Cat Co beach, this is a destination not many people know about. This place is still very unspoiled, a shelter for fishermen when they encounter a big storm at sea
Ang Tham is unique in that, the island is like a closed circle, with only one entrance, a small rock gap about 1m wide, located about 6m from the sea surface. Inside there is a large lake with a length of about 245m, a width of about 145m, the water has a jade green color that is different from the sea outside. This is a wild place, so if you want to explore this place, you need to prepare life jackets, food, water, as well as safety items. It should be noted that the entrance is very slippery, many oysters cut their feet, must be very careful and keep it clean, do not leave garbage behind.
The end of the discovery journey is the scene of sunset on Cai Beo fishing village – the oldest fishing village in Vietnam, dating from prehistoric times. The sunset covers the majestic mountains, stretching over the sea, breaking the silence of the mountains. The horizon is bright, the small fishing village seems to burst into life, people and nature harmonize to create a wonderful moment.
