A stop to Vung Tau isn’t complete without a visit to Ho May Park, an amusement park that’s guaranteed to be one of the most unique ones you’ll see in your life. There won’t be a lack of things to see, do, and experience with several different areas to explore.

The park is set on top of Nui Lon’s peak and spreads over 100 hectares/247 acres of land, offering some fantastic panoramic views of the city of Vung Tau and the ocean. With so much diversity in activities at Ho May Park, there’s something for everyone to do.

Attraction Rides

An amusement park wouldn’t be complete without rides and games, and Ho May Park is no different. The outdoor section for this type of entertainment includes a zipline, alpine coaster, quick jump, drift king, ultimate slide, bumper cars, and high-flying swings. There’s also an indoor area with about 70 arcade-style games to choose from. Smaller children will enjoy the playground at the complex.

One of the main features of the Ho May Park is its waterpark, the first of its kind on a mountain top in Vietnam. It’s equipped with lots of slides and a kid’s play area. There are also shallow waters for wading and cooling off under the hot sun.

To get to the park, visitors take the cable car to the top of the peak, where most of the attractions are. If you’re going to Ho May Park during the offseason, it’s still a nice ride with great views of the area from high above.

Cultural & Historical Sites

Despite all of the modern attractions, Ho May Park has many historic structures. Old French bunkers, the Nui Lon fortress, and the Ho May Temple are just a few venues to stop at to learn some Vietnamese culture. There’s also a Buddhism statue complex with the largest statue of Maitreya in Ba Ria and other sites with education on the Buddhist religion.

This theater’s five thousand seats and 2,500-inch outdoor screen bring the Ho May Grand Show to life with whimsical effects using water, lights, and music. This one-of-a-kind 5D experience is a captivating event that incorporates lasers and sounds to turn this nightly event into a memorable one.

Ho May Park has a lot of grounds to cover, making an organized tour a great route to go.

Sight-seeing Tours

This tour takes between 90 minutes and two hours and covers up to 9km/5.5 miles of the natural environment, hills, native plants, and a few pagodas in the area.

Night Tours

A night tour offers a trip to the mountaintop where visitors get to view the city lights of Vung Tau, a 9m/30-foot waterfall, and a lake after dark. After the excursion, tourists are given CungDinh Tea that was once only prepared for royalty.

Old Fortress Tour

This historical site from the 11th century is a popular one, with six original cannons made by the French in 1872. Visitors get to see the old battlegrounds and some of the equipment used during former wars.

The Ho May Resort (affiliate link) is based on Nui Lon’s peak and overlooks the whole city, providing easy access to the park for visitors. This hotel has a total of 70 rooms of different sizes.

Cable Car Hotel

The Ho May Cable Car Hotel is set right in the park and has 14 family-sized and three large rooms for lodging.

Camping

Ho May Park has tent campgrounds available to tourists who want to spend the night outside. Tents are provided on-site, and the grounds also offer community events, BBQ options, hiking, and a bonfire area for socializing and gathering.

There are four uniquely located restaurants in Ho May Park, each offering its own flare and scenery. Every eatery can hold a capacity of 500 and has different environments, with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is the same across all four restaurants and is available on Ho May Park’s website.

Many ingredients served in prepared dishes are sourced locally from the park’s vegetable gardens.
