Our trip to Vietnam included a boat tour at the Tam Coc Harbor in Nihn Bihn. While rowing the boat, we enjoyed the views of 3 spectacular caves, huge limestone mountains, and paddy fields. We got the chance to interact with locals while boating for around two hours. The peaceful scenery of the mountains and calm waters kept us holding our breaths. With umpteen pictures and after capturing many memories, we headed back to our hotel in Hanoi for an overnight stay.

2. Overnight Cruise In Halong Bay

We were waiting for this day of our trip eagerly as it included a cruise journey in the Halong Bay. One of the best parts of our journey was the room as its window gave the best views of the blue waters. The cruise also rendered other services and activities like spa, kayaking, cooking classes, cycling, squid fishing, and watching the process of breeding oysters to generate pearls. One can easily buy some pearl jewelry from here which has been made with pearls caught fresh from the sea.

3. A Glimpse Of The Floating Market

In My Tho, we got a chance to explore the Mekong Delta by opting for a boat. The Tien River houses some hidden spots like Unicorn, Phoenix, Tortoise, and Dragon islands. Moreover, there are fishing villages and fruit plantations along the river. A little further in the Cambodian waters we were able to witness the beauty of the floating market. Later, we had a sumptuous lunch in the most perfect setting in Coconut Farm Island. We tried some snake wine and held a python in our hands with folk music playing in the background which was the best way to end the day.

Take A Look At Our Temporary Abodes In Vietnam

We stayed at three different places in Vietnam – Hanoi, Halong Bay, and Ho Chi Minh City. Take a look at how fantastic our stay was without splurging.

1. Backpackers Hostel In Hanoi

As all of us decided on a budget trip, we chose hostels over hotels which provided great facilities and are clean. In Hanoi, we stayed at the Backpackers Hostel due to its strategic location. This hostel is situated near the major attractions of Vietnam. Moreover, the staff was hospitable and the hostel is well-known in the city due to its lively parties and happy hours.

2. Cruise In Halong Bay

In Halong Bay, our abode was a cruise for overnight. As all of us are vegetarian, we were happy to see some vegetarian options on board. Not only this, but there was an in-house bar and a grand 3-course meal that anyone can relish. Staying on a cruise was the best part of the trip since we go to admire the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin.

3. Hangout Hostel In Ho Chi Minh City

For the last two days, we stayed at another hostel in Ho Chi Minh city. Hangout Hostel is located close to the top attractions of the city and is light on your pockets. The nearby bus station gives you a chance to explore the city at a minimal cost. The premises of the hostel were well-maintained and they also offered complimentary breakfast to us.

Indian Restaurants In Vietnam

vietnam, our getaway to vietnam in february was all about fun & traversing to new places!

As all of us were vegetarians, we all had to stick to either Indian food or fast food as Vietnamese cuisine did not offer many options for vegetarians. So, we discovered three restaurants in Vietnam which provided Indian food. Little India was our first stop in Hanoi where we had great food at a cheap price. For two people, the cost came out to be only 500 rupees. Another restaurant that gave a feeling of home but away from was Namaste India. It was a bit costly than the earlier one and cost around 1000 rupees for two but it was worth paying for Indian food in Vietnam. We also got a chance to explore a cafe, Highland Coffee. If you also want to relish the best coffee in the country then head to one of the franchises of Highland Coffee and try their coffee which ranges from 200 to 300 rupees.

Shopping In Vietnam

Vietnam has tons of options for shopping, ranging from clothes to cosmetics. So, prepare yourself before heading out for shopping in Vietnam. The prices of all the items are reasonable but be ready to bargain as they quote high prices from the actual prices to tourists. Buck up yourself, polish your bargaining skills, and crash the street lanes of Vietnam.
