If you’re visiting the temperate city of Da Lat, in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, you’re not going to want to miss the Datanla New Alpine Coaster, a unique alpine attraction that will allow you to take in the area’s beauty at your own pace.

Located right near the Datanla Falls, this alpine coaster offers guests a high-speed ride down Asia’s longest track, which measures 2,400 meters in length. The two-seater coaster features a magnetic braking system that not only maintains a proper distance between cars but also allows you to control the speed of your own descent.

Let gravity do all the work while winding down a multi-layered track through a vibrant pine forest with views of the aforementioned waterfall. This is eco-friendly, action-packed adventure is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity and cannot be missed while staying in Vietnam.

Sun World Ba Na Hills, a sprawling entertainment complex located in the cooler mountain air above the city of Da Nang, is a premier attraction for visitors to Central Vietnam. Boasting one of the longest cable car rides in the world, just getting to this multilevel amusement park at the site of a former colonial French summer retreat is a bit of an adventure.

Home to the famous Golden Bridge, which is supported by a pair of enormous stone hands, this is a social media user’s paradise. This mountainside complex offers a wealth of attractions, from a picturesque French Village to a giant Buddha statue, all tied together by an immense network of cable cars and funiculars.

Among these attractions are a pair of alpine coaster tracks that at times run parallel to each other. Just as is the case with the Datanla Alpine Coaster, riders can make the descent in their own two-seater car, with control of the brakes for as fast or slow a ride as they feel comfortable with.

One tip to keep in mind if you’re feeling the need for speed: Let the attendant at the top know that you want to go fast so that they release you with enough distance from the car in front of you so that you won’t have to brake. The last thing you’ll want is to get caught in a traffic jam, although, the consolation is gorgeous views of both the park itself and the lush green slopes fading out into the distance.

Getting to Sun World Bana Hills from Da Nang is rather straightforward. The city is 25 kilometers away and the travel time is approximately one hour. If you’re staying in the scenic World Heritage Site town of Hoi An, travel time there and back is substantially longer, so you’ll either want to find cheap transport to Da Nang via a shuttle bus, or a pricier, yet more direct, taxi ride.

Vinpearl Land Nha Trang – Hon Tre Island

Just offshore the beach resort town of Nha Trang, on the southeast coast of Vietnam, lies Hon Tre Island. The biggest attraction, Vinpearl Land Nha Trang, also known as the VinWonders, is festooned with cartoonish castles and lots of attractions.

Ranging from a large water park to classic rides such as a Ferris Wheel and rollercoasters, this half-natural, half-artificial entertainment destination also boasts its own alpine coaster.

The Vinpearl Land Alpine Coaster spans two spiraling tracks and has a total length of 1, 760 meters (5,774 feet), with an altitude differential between stations of 133 meters (436 feet). Riders on this alpine coast will have the option of going in pairs as well as maintaining control of their speed via a braking system.

As mentioned earlier, Vinpeal Land features more than just this coaster. On the property, there’s an enormous water park with a variety of colorful waterslides as well as the largest floating marine park in the world, Splash Bay.
