On April 18, CDC removed Vietnam and 89 other countries and territories around the world from the list of recommended do not travel.

Some destinations on the list of Vietnam varieties are reduced to Level 3 – the high level in the UK, France, Israel, Turkey, Australia, Spain, Russia, Switzerland, Austria… However, the Center The US Preventive Medicine (CDC) still advises that people should only go to countries with warning level 3 when fully vaccinated. “We hope with the latest updates, American citizens will make informed decisions about travel,” said a CDC representative.

With this latest move, the US no longer ranks any country or territory on the list of Level 4 – the highest warning level about not traveling. Level 4 has also been renamed “Special Circumstances/No Travel”.

Many US airlines and travel agencies have repeatedly called on the Biden administration to remove complicated entry regulations for tourists. One of them is to drop the requirement to test negative, as many countries around the world already do. Experts believe that the application of disease prevention measures, travel warnings … are no longer necessary and may affect the tourism industry. However, the US CDC stated that there are currently no changes in immigration procedures, and the previous regulations still apply.

Currently, fully vaccinated Vietnamese tourists entering the US needs to provide a negative test certificate (within 24 hours) or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 (within 90 days) before boarding. Children under the age of two do not need to provide a test certificate.

In 2019, the number of American tourists to Vietnam was more than 746.00 people, accounting for about 4% of the total number of international visitors.
