Vietnam 39 days without infecting the community nCoV

On the morning of October 12, the Ministry of Health did not record a positive case for nCoV, 39 days without community infection.

In the last 24 hours, the two more cases were immediately quarantined. Total number of cases is 1,109, out of 1,024. The death toll from Covid-19 was 35, with four deaths after three to four negative tests.

The remaining patients are being treated in 12 mostly stable health facilities, of which four tested negative for nCoV once, one was negative for the second time and 16 were negative for the third time.

Up to now, Vietnam has recorded 691 cases of Covid-19 caused by domestic infections, the rest are on entries. The increase in the number of cases over the past month is all entries. The total number of people who have been in close contact and entering from the quarantine area is more than 16,000. In which, isolation concentrated in the hospital more than 200; Concentrated isolation is more than 13,000, the rest are at home or in accommodation.

Ho Chi Minh City has more than 70 days with no new cases recorded in the community. From August 17 to now, Hanoi has not recorded any more cases of community infection, but more entries.

The Ministry of Health forecasts this year’s winter will be fierce for countries in the prevention of Covid-19. The two biggest infectious risks to Vietnam today are from people entering (both illegally and legally) and carriers of the disease circulating in the community. Two focuses need to pay special attention to the coming time, which are management and isolation of entries, and prevention of infection in health facilities.

The risk of epidemics is always present when the international routes are gradually opened, the Ministry of Health recommends that people raise their awareness of epidemic prevention according to the 5K message: mask – disinfection – distance – no gathering – declaration medical.

The world records more than one million deaths from COV, out of more than 37 million infected. The three largest epidemic regions in the world are the US, India and Brazil.
