July receives the most amount of sunshine compared to any other month, with 5.9 hours of direct sunlight representing 44% of the 13.3 hours of daylight. At the beginning of the month, hot temperatures persist from 10 am to 9 pm, and by mid-July, temperatures are hot from 11 am to 8 pm.

Similar to June, July remains peak tourist season in Hanoi despite the uncomfortably hot and humid temperatures. Family trips to Hanoi and the surrounding area are common, with school being out for the summer.

Although there are no annual festivals in Hanoi during this time, July is the perfect time to enjoy Hanoi’s sunshine and nearby beaches. You can take a short trip to Ha Long Bay to enjoy its stunning limestone islands, or visit one of Hanoi’s many nearby beaches, including Do Son Beach, Thinh Long Beach, Bai Chay Beach, and Tuan Chau Beach.

With the high humidity, sweltering heat and heavy rainfall dominating the weather, it’s best to avoid visiting Hanoi during this time of year and instead wait for the upcoming fall months.

If you do decide to visit Hanoi in July, be sure to wear light, sweat-absorbent clothing when outdoors. As July receives the most direct sunlight compared to any other month, it’s best to always use sun protection, including sunscreen, sun hats, and sunglasses.

As rainfall continually increases, rain gear is essential when visiting Hanoi during this time of year as storms can be frequent, unexpected and can last for a long time.
