Here you can enjoy traditional Vietnamese dishes and street food, sidewalk cafes, walking tours, shopping at Dong Xuan Market and Hanoi’s night market, and more.

The best time to visit Hanoi’s Old Quarter is on weekends and evenings when the streets are closed to vehicles to make way for food vendors.

Hoan Kiem Lake is another must-see when visiting Hanoi. This peaceful, freshwater lake is located inside the Hanoi Old Quarter and attracts locals and visitors looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. It is best to visit Hoan Kiem Lake early in the morning or on Fridays to Sundays during the hours of 7 pm to 12 am when traffic is banned.

October is one of the best months to visit Hanoi to explore all that the city has to offer. The milder temperatures, ample sunlight, and light breeze, combined with the changing colours of the leaves, make this the perfect season to visit Hanoi.

Temperatures are comfortable enough to wear a t-shirt during daylight hours. Still, it may be necessary to wear long-sleeved shirts and jeans during the evening as temperatures drop slightly. This depends on what weather you are accustomed to.
