November is the first official month of Ho Chi Minh City’s dry season, which draws a lot of tourists to the city as temperatures are cooler, humidity is less oppressive, and rainfall is intermittent.

Throughout the month, temperatures range from as low as 74°F (23.3°C) to as high as 87°F (30.6°C). The weather starts getting cooler at night but remains warm throughout the day. On average, Ho Chi Minh City sees 6.7 hours of direct sunlight over its 11.9 hour-long days.

As the first month of Ho Chi Minh City’s dry season, both humidity and precipitation decrease significantly compared to the city’s wet months. Humidity drops to 80% and the city receives 119.4 mm (4.7 in) of rainfall over 12.1 rainfall days, which is less than half of the amount received in October. Precipitation continues to decline throughout the month.

In November, Ho Chi Minh City becomes more crowded as locals and tourists alike will take advantage of the city’s favorable weather.

November is a great time to enjoy a river cruise in Ho Chi Minh City to enjoy the cooler atmosphere while experiencing the local cuisine, culture, history, and architecture of the city and nearby areas.

There are a variety of different day-long river cruises available, including a visit to Ho Chi Minh City’s popular tourist attraction, the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi Tunnels is a series of underground networks that were used as hiding spots by Viet Cong soldiers during the war against French colonists from 1945-1954 and again in the 1960s in the Vietnam War with the United States. The Vietnamese government has since preserved the 75-mile long tunnels, which now operate as a war memorial park.

Other day-long cruises include trips to the Mekong Delta, the Vam Sat Mangrove forest, and the Cao Dai Temple. Whether you prefer private or small group tours, there are plenty of options available for all travelers alike.

Although precipitation in November is far less significant compared to October, it’s still recommended to bring a raincoat or umbrella along with you, especially at the beginning of the month. However, by the end of the month, there should be no need to bring rain protection as precipitation will decrease dramatically.

Remember to wear sunscreen and other sun protection as sunlight hours increase and cloudy skies become less frequent.

When visiting Ho Chi Minh City during this time of year, be prepared to come across tourist attractions that are more crowded due to the favorable temperatures of the city. Museums, parks, pagodas, and markets will become busier and busier as the month progresses, so be sure to visit these places early in the day to avoid large crowds.
