Dreaming of a trip together since college, but it took 5 years for Kim Ngan and a group of close friends to realize their dream. Incidentally, this trip is a milestone marking 10 years of friendship and 20 years of studying in the same school with 4 friends: Ngan, Thanh, Thao, and Hung.

There have been many trips together, but this is the longest trip that Ngan’s group of friends has taken. According to Kim Ngan’s share, this trip was prepared from December 2021 for everyone to arrange their work, to March 2022 to schedule and prepare necessary supplies for the trip. And on June 20, 2022, the trip started from Dong Nai, traveling along the Central Coast and throughout the Northeast – Northwest mountains for 35 days by 2 motorbikes.

Quit work to go on the journey of youth

At the time of June 2022, when 2 male friends decided to resign from their old company and will find a new job after finishing the trip, the group was quite surprised and excited. Ngan said that she works as a freelancer and family business, so her work is not limited in time. And Thao is a teacher, so the time of the trip coincides with the time of summer vacation, so there is not much to worry about.

Ngan shared that the group’s schedule is in charge of Thanh, from deciding how to go to the places he intends to visit. As for food and rest, Ngan and Thao are in charge. “Whoever has a task, give comments for the whole group to decide. The assignment is clear, so the trip is quite smooth,” Ngan laughed and said. During the journey, most of Thanh and Hung were at the wheel. ”Compared to ordinary trips such as getting in the car and sleeping waiting to arrive at the destination, traveling by motorbike is a completely different experience. Memorable incident on the road

The trip is expected to last 30-40 days and Ngan’s group has completed the journey on the 35th day. Traveling around 22 provinces and cities, Ha Giang is the place she is most impressed with. “Ha Giang is still the same, it is a favorite destination for all traveling believers. The pass in Ha Giang has a very unique beauty compared to other places”, Ngan shared.

Despite going into the rainy and stormy season, Ngan’s group only experienced heavy rain twice, including hail at Thung Mountain (Cao Bang). “The road in the mountain is quite difficult, there are steep sections. When the rain poured down, our cars and people got stuck and had to be pushed up very hard. But in return, the whole group had an unforgettable experience,” Ngan said.

The road along the central coast to Ninh Binh in hot weather is also a memorable memory for this group of friends. “The sun is very strong, we go 3-4 days, we have to spend a day to rest. But when we go to the northern mountains, the weather is much cooler. The most extreme is that the two male friends have to drive long distances. I am normal. I often exercise, so my health is also quite good,” she shared.

In addition, car accidents on the road are inevitable. On the first day, the group had punctured tires twice in the afternoon in Ninh Thuan and in the evening in Nha Trang. A broken mirror in Quang Tri and a broken saddle occurred in Sa Pa. The group also fell off a car on the way to Cao Bang. However, it was only a minor fall, not an accident.

Combined in the trip, Ngan’s group also trekked in some places such as Than Da cliff (Ha Giang), Binh Lieu dinosaur spine…

Sharing after the trip, Ngan said that this is a journey for the group of friends to reward themselves and allow themselves to do what they love.

Sharing experiences, about eating and drinking, Ngan said that you should not completely trust restaurants that are rated online. Her team chooses places where locals often eat and gives them good reviews.

In terms of accommodation, close friends mainly book homestays through the app because there are many options and prices, and only have to pay at check-in. The group booked a room before arriving at the resting place about 4-12 hours.

Ngan noted that vehicles must be checked before traveling and welded a rear rack frame to tie luggage. The group should not bring too many personal items to limit junk because they can be bought anywhere along the way.
