Dien Cape in Phu Yen - The beauty in the easternmost sky of Vietnam

When I saw a review on Instagram, the reviewer said he was so scared when going early in the morning to catch the sunrise. I also wondered why. The next morning, the two of us also got up early and departed at 4:00 to get to Dien Cape, Phu Yen.

Most roads are newly paved; only one section is still under construction with many potholes. Thus, you have to pay attention to that section. We followed the Google map to Dien Cape when the red light was about to appear on the horizon. We bought 2 tickets for VND 20,000 per person, drove the motorbike to the parking lot, and paid for it separately (the parking fee from early morning is VND 10,000; when it was morning, the fee is only VND 5,000). This is a bit strange for a person living in Da Nang like me. In Da Nang, the parking cost is always included in the ticket price.

Next, there will be 2 options for you: walk about 1km to Dien Cape or take a motorbike taxi for 50k per person to Dien Cape. I chose to walk because I’m an active person. Besides, the outdoor temperature in the early morning is very comfortable, making walking easier. The route is also quite easy to move because there are many people walking along, so there is no fear of getting lost. When walking close to the cape, you will see a turn on the left-hand side leading to Bai Mon (or Bai Tien). Go a little further and you will see another fork, on the left is the way to the lighthouse, going straight is the way to Dien Cape. Actually, you can go up to the lighthouse and then down to Dien Cape.

Red lights appeared in the easternmost sky when I arrived at Phu Yen Dien Cape. Find a cool spot, set up the camera on a tripod, and wait for the first rays of the sun to touch down on the country’s mainlandy, it feels strangely peaceful.

After visiting Dien Cape, I went to the Lighthouse. Before going up, you have to leave your shoes outside. The entrance fee to the lighthouse is VND 20,000 per person. Standing on the lighthouse, you can zoom your eyes towards Phu Yen Dien Cape and Bai Mon below. Everything is as small as if you were looking at the miniature. The vast nature is captured in the eyes, the real feeling gives goosebumps.
