Day 1:

– 22:00: we were present at Noi Bai

– From Noi Bai airport, I booked a motorbike provided by Motogo, which was delivered to the airport. A rental fee per day is VND 150k for a super new motorbike. Every time I go to Northern Vietnam, I also book this brand,

– Rested at the hotel for 1 night to recharge energy for backpacking the next day: VND 180k

– I overslept until 7 am, then departed for Cao Bang. I took the Lang Son route, I must have taken the wrong road because the road was full of difficult muddy potholes. Also, we had a flat tire, so until 6 pm, we arrived. A surprise is that the scenery here is very beautiful, and you will go by the That Khe border. If you want to go backpacking, try the Bac Kan route. We also chose this route to go back home, there are a lot of turns. However, the road is smooth and the scenery is also excellent 🖤

– 18:00: we checked in Pi Nong Homestay (VND 250k/day). I was satisfied with this place, from the owner to the excellent view of the room. My taste! 😝

Day 2: Me Pia Pass – Lenin Stream

– 7:00: we departed. The road was a bit difficult due to potholes and the combo of drizzle and fog, so I run at a rather slow speed. Around 9:00 or 10:00, we arrived. I take the route where I run across the pass and there are many similar sections.

– Enjoyed a bowl of instant noodles with a stunning view of Khau Coc Cha to warm your stomach and gain strength for trekking 😔

– I went on Monday, so there was no one there. Only both of us trekked. It took us a lot of time to reach the destination, we were not tired but scared. We just enjoyed the view for a while, made some poses for pictures, then I went down. I felt a little sorry 😭😭

– Around 13:00, we drove to Lenin Stream, continued to get soaked in the rain and mist, and went astray until nearly 16:00. After arrival, we quickly enjoyed the view and then went down before dark 😭. The cost of sightseeing is VND 45k/person, including a tram ticket. Actually, on the 2nd day, I planned to go 4 spots, Mat Than Mountain and Thang Hen Lake, but there was not enough time.

Day 3: Mat Than (God’s Eye) Mountain – Hanoi

– I should have taken advantage of this day to return to Hanoi for a visit to Tam Chuc, but because the day 2 schedule was not complete, I had to stay longer to get to the valley where everything is beautiful. It was also rainy and foggy, the way down to the valley was a bit ugly due to the muddy rain, so it was hard to go. No matter how difficult it was, the breathtaking scenery would be worth my effort! hihi 😚

– You can visit additional Ban Gioc Waterfall, Thang Hen Lake, Nguom Ngao Cave, and Phat Tich Truc Lam Pagoda. Because I didn’t have time to go, so I just save them for later travel 😭

To sum up:

– My total trip without airfare is about 1.4 million per person for 3 days

– Cao Bang is very beautiful, but if you fall in love, wait for the right season to go. If not, it’s a bit rainy, a bit cold, and heavily foggy, the pass is mainly a bit dangerous.

– The scenery in real life is much better than in pictures but the weather is not so good. Sometimes I couldn’t take out my phone, and the pictures were a bit blurry but I didn’t mean to make the scenery worse 😭😭
