It is a very well known church, and while you may find a crowd most days, come here for some much-needed me-time.

2. Afghan Church, Colaba

Originally named The Church of St John the Evangelist, the Afghan Church was built to commemorate casualties of the First Anglo-Afghan War. Wide Gothic arches, beautiful stained glass, and a 60-meter high tower spire make for a picturesque sight. The church hosts weekly services and is a prominent tourist attraction!

3. St. Thomas Cathedral Fort

St. Thomas Cathedral Fort was the first Anglican Church in Mumbai. Primarily featuring splendid work of Gothic architecture, the church proudly stands as a UNESCO heritage site. Fun fact, the famous Churchgate station gets its name from this church. The beautiful edifice featuring stained glass and the high ceiling gives it a rustic and ancient vibe.

4. Gloria Church, Byculla

Gloria Church in Byculla is a very prominent Roman Catholic church in India. The towering high spires glinting against the sunlight do make for a very gorgeous view. 5. St. Anne’s Church, Mazgaon

It is a small, quaint church within a tight-knit community. The beams and the intricate architecture of St. Anne’s attracts people from all over the country. 6. St. Andrew’s Church, Bandra

Set on the seashore, St Andrew’s Church was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and is one of the oldest churches in Mumbai. They hold masses regularly, offer yoga classes and even have an eye clinic affiliated to them. St Andrew’s is not only beautiful, but it also binds the community together.
